Central locations with limited supply and improving infrastructure have historically held value well in Mumbai.

Bombay High Court cleared redevelopment of Buddhisagar Co-operative Housing Society, an 80-year-old building in Matunga East. Court dismissed writ petition by minority tenants challenging MHADA eviction notice issued for redevelopment. Ruling dated February 3, 2026. Court held that individual objections cannot override majority consent in lawful redevelopment projects, and that individual obstruction cannot override lawful collective decisions, particularly in old and dilapidated buildings. Project backed by majority residents and approved by multiple statutory authorities.
