Elapully is a quiet little village situated near Kanjikode and Para temple. There is ample fresh air , clear water , lush green fields and abundance of flora and fauna everywhere. The Para temple is famous for its legend of how the goddess herself appeared as a worker asking for some pepper to the passing merchant , who lied to her saying that it was only green gram in his sack. When he opened his sack to sell his wares he found to his dismay that it had indeed turned into green gram. He realized his folly and returned to build the temple here. There are many other temples in and around, with yearly temple festivals. The place is also very famous for its dairy farm ,having received the best dairy farm award.There is a primary health center, Govt. school and Private school near by. There is a Canara Bank , South Indian Bank and a Elapully Cooperative Bank here. The weekly farmers market on Thursdays brings in fresh vegetables from nearby places at cheap rates. Ration shop, provision shops, hardware stores, department stores, shoe and bag shops etc are also at walk-able distances in this place. There are bustops with buses plying to town, pollachi, kanjikode and guruvayur stopping here.There is a call taxi stand and auto stand with plenty of vehicles available all the time. On the whole this lush green village is the best place to settle down or stay during holidays. It is peaceful, trouble free and relaxing.
