Karla, lonavala is a place that transforms beauty to divinity. A place to rejuvenate and infuse a breath of fresh air that keeps your mind calm which we often miss in hush and rush of metropolitan cities. Lonavala is a hill station about 64 km away from Pune city and 96 km away from the Mumbai city. It is a major stop on the rail line connecting Mumbai and Pune by road. Lonavala is located almost midway of Mumbai - Pune expressway. Lonavala is blessed by nature as it has quite a few lakes and dams like Tungarli Lake, Parvna Lake, Valvan dam, Bhushi dam. Karla caves and Bhaja caves are interesting places to visit as they are surrounded by breath taking scenery and also provide an insight into Lonavala’s rich history.

Karla is the beautiful place, charming and twin hill stations, 622 m above sea level and situated in the Sahyadri ranges.
They are located around 64 km away from the city of Pune and 96 km away from the city Mumbai, popular getaway from Mumbai and Pune. Lonavala is also known as the 'Jewel of the Sahyadri' is situated in the western part of Maharashtra. This hill stations are known for their scenic beauty, green hills, deep valleys,historic forts, lakes and waterfalls. The main attraction for coming to Lonavala is the sequence of great Karla caves.

Karla is located on the Sahayadri Hills, with a historic background from Chatrapati Shivaji. The Bhaje Fort located in the vicinity offers a good trek. The Presence of international institutes like Vedant Academy adds to the glamour of Karla. I have been staying here on holidays with my family to have a experienced a tranquil getaway from Mumbai on a relaxed drive.
