Yet it has a very homely atmosphere, ideally suitable for a peaceful living. This unusual combination makes it one of the best Localities to live and work from. Worth mentioning is the supermarket which sits on the corner of Sakher Bazar, vending all sorts things, from vegetable to hardware, to fulfill your daily needs. The fish market is especially worth mentioning - you may even get exotics sometimes. Scattered around are a few department stores that will fulfill your more luxury needs. And dotted throughout the whole area are restaurants, fast food joints and luxury diners - food lovers will want to spend the evening outside! This one of the few localities in Kolkata that has been featured the least number of times on the news - due to the very stable political and social structure here. Families will have a very carefree time here.

Behala Sakher Bazar is the best locality in Kolkata I have ever seen. Many road crossings are connected there. Situated on the proposed metro station which will be available very soon. Good market, shops.
