I'm living in Uran since 2007 and before that I was living at Mumbai city. Choice of living in Uran came to be bad idea because of lots of thing hear are worst then any part of Mumbai. Maximum construction was done by local builders who use bad quality materials which ages your building faster. Electricity, water and drainage problem is worst and local municipal people are so inactive and lazy. Maximum areas are under CIDCO so they never give permission to local builders but buildings were constructed by bribing government people which is more problematic. There are CODCO, GREEN ZONE and other legal dispute problems in Uran lands which is worst for outsiders like us.
And last but not the least, is local people problem, like rough illiterate local people never show understandings with others. You can see so many useless boys with bike mingle in collage and school areas to harass young girls. Lots of people left Uran because of these local thugs. Even police show keen views about this issue. I m really upset about this and my mother is not willing to live here anymore. If you don't trust me then please visit here for some time and just stand near school or collage areas and watch by your self. Due to rough local mentality Uran is worst in Navi Mumbai area.
Please don't buy any property without full documentation and please consult Codco official about property before buy. But my advice is try the Mumbai Pune highway areas which comes under codco and also have good roads and build quality.
