Zirakpur is a gateway to Chandigarh and Punjab in District Mohali, and also leads the way to Haryana via Panchkula, and Himachal Pradesh, just about three hours picturesque drive to Shimla!
Population of Zirakpur has grown from 25000 in 2001 to nearly 2,00,000 now.
