Sarjapur Circle impressive growth is its proximity to Outer Ring Road, Whitefield, and Marathahalli-Sarjapur stretch, which are some of the commercially well-developed localities. As Sarjapur started developing rapidly, IT giants like Wipro and Infosys planned big investments in this region. A Wipro campus was set up as well as Infosys came up with its IT SEZ on 202 acres in the area. While Sarjapur initially emerged as a mid-level market, it is now experiencing high-end launches too.
With a project launched by Infosys, realty developers predicted an increase in residential demand in Sarjapur and consequently started eyeing for investments. Following this, numerous residential and commercial ventures were launched here. Wipro’s Azim Premji has recently announced the company will acquire 50 acres of land in Sarjapur for building a world-class university. Hospitality players like Shangri-la, Hilton, and Novotel are also interested in Sarjapur.
With more than 2 lacs of IT employees working in ORR stretch, this area is developing into a busy IT corridor. Moreover, the capital values in Sarjapur are quite affordable as compared to its neighboring residential hubs like Whitefield and Koramangala.

Sarjapur Circle is having about 200 school buses, 100 lorries and a host of private vehicles stranded for hours at a road that is less than 30-ft-wide. This is the heat of traffic that thousands of schools students studying in top international and CBSE schools face every day. The result: In spite of leaving school at 3:30 pm, they do not reach home until sunset.
Travelling through the Varthur-Gunjur-Sarjapur (part of SH-35) Road (that extends from Columbia Asia hospital in Whitefield, opposite Forum Value Mall, to Sarjapur Road) has literally become a nightmare for many parents. Over 1,500 parents signed a petition in August 2014 to ease traffic in this area which was causing huge delays for children travelling to school and back. As a result, a ban on truck movement during the day was enforced in January. However, the order was reversed after hectic lobbying by transporters.
International schools in the area include Greenwood International School, Global Indian International School, Inventure Academy, Chrysalis High School, Oakridge International School, The International School of Bangalore (TISB) and Indus International School among others. The parents say that as a result, in the mornings, it often takes children two hours to travel a stretch that is 10-20 km long. In the afternoon, if on any day there is a breakdown along the route, the travel time is even longer.
